Adirondack Museum Alliance
The Adirondack Historical Alliance is a collection of rural historical groups located in the Southeastern Adirondacks. The mission of this Alliance is to foster collaboration among members to enhance their individual objectives. Current projects include creation of a common brochure which features each member’s organization/museum, sharing each organization’s calendar of events, and educating the members on technology used and other topics of interest. Johnsburg Historical Society, Wevertown
Hello Everyone,
Our summer newsletter will be out soon but in the meantime we have a couple of July events to tell you about.
This coming Sunday, July 19th, at 3 pm, we will be hosting Sue McLean with her trunk of fashions from the turn of the 19th century.
On Saturday, July 25th, at 1 pm, David Newkirk will be doing a talk on Harrington Road and Washburn Eddy.
Both events are free but of course donations are always appreciated.
Please watch for the summer newsletter which will include a membership envelope and our 50-50 drawing tickets. We will be drawing this at our annual meeting in December.
Our Waddell House Museum is full of interesting displays including the 1901 Stagecoach Robbery, Theodore Roosevelt, William McKinley, the Pan American Expo in Buffalo where President McKinley was shot, Around Johnsburg in 1901, the five Revolutionary Soldiers who are buried here, Abiram Galusha, John Pasco, Samuel Barber, John Ward and Nicholas Roosevelt and our Lyle Dye Library & Research Room.
